Catch spices up its product portfolio with exciting new offerings

Catch salt & spices, one of the most premium F&B brands in the country, is set to expand its network and break into newer markets. The brand Catch, a part of the Rs 1850-crore DS Group, has revolutionized the Indian spice industry with its wide range of spices and seasonings.  With aggressive expansion plans, Catch is enhancing the product basket, by adding specialized and tailor made products with a regional twist.

Catch has launched 11 new products this year including two in mix-n-drink category. These are available in various SKUs of 50, 100 or 200 grams in mono cartons / sprinkler packs / pouches that are easy-to-carry and use. Pudina Chutney Masala, Raita Masala, Rasam and Achari Masala are few such products, which are all set to spice up the Indian palates.  The choice of new products has been guided by various factors like the varying regional taste, convenience of use and exotic flavoring for a particular dish. On one hand there is a masala for Raita which is a popular and staple item in the traditional Indian thali, while on the other hand there is Sambhar Powder with its unique southern flavour which is a blend of spices that caters to the South Indian palate and promises the authentic flavor and aroma of South Indian Sambhar. Spices like Shahi Pulao Masala and Biryani Masala are unique blend of exotic spices that ensure delectable dishes. In Catch mix-n-drink category Cool Aampanna and Orange Piyo, not only can be made in a jiffy but also re-energizes and rejuvenates anytime anywhere. Catch is also launching Handi Mirch for those who like the taste and color of authentic sizzling red chilli. Therefore, a judicious mix of the expanded offerings ensures greater and wider appeal for all food lovers across the nation.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Satish Rustagi, Business Head, Food Division, DSL said, “with changing lifestyle and paucity of time the needs of consumer has also altered.  Keeping their convenience on forefront, products like Raita Masala, Pudina Chutney, Aampana and Piyo Orange sures, they enjoy the traditional Indian taste in minimum time. Few products like Sambhar Masala, Shahi Pulao and Biryani Masala have been added to the Catch basket to accelerate our channel expansion and tap the vast business potential present in regional markets.”

Catch was launched in 1987 with the revolutionary Tabletop Salt & Pepper Sprinklers. It has since then expanded its range and is now a preferred household name in the spice industry. The popularity of the table top range has earned Catch a ‘Super brand’ status. With more than 40 variants across 6 product categories - Sprinklers, Straight spices, blended spices, Straight premium spices, Whole spices and Hing; it  caters to the diverse Indian palate. With new product variants under the brand umbrella and extended product range, there are nearly 200 SKUs for both household and Institutional buyers.

‘Catch’ spices are popular for their exquisite flavours and tantalizing aromas. The USP of these spices is its technology, the unique Low Temperature Grinding (LTG) technology that prevents the evaporation of volatile & delicate oils from spices. This gives the consumer the benefit of spices that retain their original aroma giving a wholesome, authentic flavour to the food. Catch spices do not use any “fillers” and the raw materials are procured from the source locations, thus making it pure.

The Catch umbrella also includes Catch Natural Spring Water, bottled at the source of Himalayas – the source with purity and goodness of nature. Catch Natural Spring Water is the only bottled water in India certified to comply with the Food and Drug Administration (US) Code of Federal Regulations by NSF International Organization.
