Construction of Check Dam, Shrawasti

DSL in partnership with Manav Vikas Sanstha has constructed 4 check dams in Sirsiya Block of Shrawasti District, Uttar Pradesh declared as aspirational by Niti Ayog, considering low human development Index. The project has reached out to more than 600 households from the neediest section of society.

The main objective of the project is to improve agricultural productivity and sustainable income generation opportunities for the beneficiaries resulting from groundwater recharge through the construction of storage structures and water availability.

Revival of Community Ponds, Mahoba

The project to revive four community ponds in the drought-affected areas of Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh was undertaken by DSL in 2016. The de-siltation and bund improvement activities created an increase of an additional, 77000 cubic meters of water storage approximately, which impacted more than 6000 people in the region.

The Company worked closely with the Soil Conservation Department to facilitate the construction of Farm Ponds by the Farmers. Under the project, around 195 selected farmers constructed Farm ponds to create a cumulative storage capacity of more than 4,00,000 cubic meters and irrigate around 127 hectares of land.

Ghat Development & Maintenance, Varanasi

To aid the Government’s Namami Gange Project, DSL has adopted 6 prominent Ghats in Varanasi – Shivala, Mahanirvana, Dandi, Guleria, Niranjani Akhada and Chet Singh Kila Ghat. Activities such as silt removal from stairs of ghats, installation of bins & repairing of safety railings, cleaning and repairing of drainage on these ghats are undertaken on a regular basis.

Avartansheel Kheti, Bundelkhand

DSL has started a Livelihood project in Bundelkhand for farmers to make them self-reliant and train them in climate-proof farming. The project aims to introduce the concept of “Avartansheel Kheti”, one of the forms of organic farming, which drastically reduces the farmer’s dependency on external resources for seeds, water, and pesticide making them self-sufficient. The project is expected to benefit around 3300 farmers.

Skill Development Center, Noida

DSL is supporting Niveda Foundation to promote Skill Development and livelihood generation activities at Chaura and Nithari village in Noida. The project aims to induct 120 underprivileged women from the target community in non-farm based skills like industrial stitching, block printing etc.

Empowering Women through Financial Literacy, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Prayagraj, and Niwari

Project Samriddhi, a financial literacy project that works towards the economic empowerment of the rural women in Jhansi, Lalitpur, Prayagraj, and Niwari district of Uttar Pradesh by making them economically literate and self-reliant. The project being implemented by Score Livelihood Foundation with the support of DSCPL will benefit around 12000 beneficiaries under different portfolios of financial literacy and entrepreneurship in 4 identified districts.

Educational Support Centre in Slums, Agra & Lucknow

To promote effective quality education for children living in slums of Agra and Lucknow, DSL is running 5 Educational Support Centres in Agra and 6 in Lucknow in partnership with Aryashree Shiksha Samiti. These the Educational Support Centres supplement the education of the non-school going students in morning session and school going students in the afternoon session by imparting tutorials to them The economically poor parents can’t pay for tuitions leadings to poor performance dropping out of schools.

In Noida, DSL has partnered with Niveda Foundation for running a non-formal education centre in Nithari village to provide basic education to out of school children and subsequently enrolment in formal education system.

More than 3000 underprivileged children benefitted through such interventions.

We work in four communities of Uttar Pradesh with children from economically poor and marginalized communities. These are urban slums of Noida, Agra and Lucknow. These centers serve children who attend daily sessions and discussions where they learn about empathy compassion, integrity, and more, all through a gender lens. Previous batches of our learners have gained significant knowledge about harmful gender norms and practices and have begun to raise their voices and concerns against them.
